Sri Lanka will not allow its territory to be used against India, says Sri Lankan foreign minister GL Peiris Sri Lankan foreign minister GL Peiris, who is on a visit to India, told Padma Rao of Times Online that Sri Lanka will never allow any part of its territory to be used in any way against the well-being of India. He also denied that Sri Lanka was in a debt trap and unable to service its loans from China. India has been concerned about China’s activities in Sri Lanka, particularly in the northern areas where the Chinese embassy has been reaching out to local communities, and the alleged Lankan pivot to Beijing under the Rajapaksas.
